Beschreibung
Silvio Berlusconi, Geert Wilders, Frank Stronach, Viktor Uspaskich, Vít Bárta, Tomio Okamura, Andrej Babiš. These are just some names of political entrepreneurs who created their own parties and entered politics with them. Although this phenomenon has strongly influenced political and social life in the Czech Republic for many years, it is not well known and has not yet been thoroughly mapped. This groundbreaking work offers an informed and thorough analysis of entrepreneurial parties, focusing on those active today or in the recent past in the Czech Republic. It maps their origins, development, the themes that resonated with voters, and the characteristics of these voters. A special place in the analysis of individual parties is given to party organization and the role of the founding leader within it. Depending on the size of the leader's financial, media, and other resources, as well as their decision to create territorial structures and a membership base or not, it offers an innovative typology of these parties. The book also places these parties in the broader context of the transformation of contemporary politics in Western democracies.
