She appears to her husband Julko to continue overseeing the flawless running of the household, where the abandoned widower is left alone. Especially when glassmaker Julek blows a glass nude with his friend Pepka at the local glassworks and they set off on a journey to Lourdes to bring the local stingy priest miraculous water from the spring of Our Lady of Lourdes.
