Beschreibung
Through the eyes of a fifty-year-old narrator, the author retrospectively returns to the first half of his life, which was set primarily in the 1980s and 1990s with everything that belonged to that time in a small town in the Highlands, or rather, a distant periphery of Brno. On the main storyline describing many incidents from life that he experienced with his technically skilled yet often comically clumsy neighbor, he describes the rather unfortunate fate of his uncle, who was consumed by the regime of the time and ultimately fell seriously ill. The fates and actions of many participants in the story unexpectedly flow through historical changes into the 1990s and end with the conclusion of the entire century. The author ultimately summarizes, with the passage of time, how the whole story, based on real events, reached him in such details that he could not even hint at in his childhood. The book is just short enough for those in their forties and older to remember, smile, and quickly forget the bad, while those in their forties and younger can understand what they may never have to live through. Some of it is based on true events, and some connects the unconnectable, but the depiction of the era is fully preserved.
