After the success of the already twice-published work Hidden Castles and Chateaus I (or Following the Traces of Noble Residences in Prague), Otomar Dvořák and Josef Pepson Snětivý ventured once again into the streets and corners of Prague, beneath the surface of modern buildings and into archives – presenting further hidden gems in places where even an informed reader might not expect them (who among today's heritage lovers knows, for example, where the beautiful chateau Sakrabonka once stood?). Indeed, some of them can unfortunately only be found underground or in period sources. However, that does not mean we should shroud them in 'eternal silence.' Their beauty captivated contemporaries, the memory of ages survives in local names, and the comparison of current and past areas is immensely interesting, albeit often sad... The authors paid special attention to summer houses, which were hardly covered in the 'first volume.' They will describe them as remarkable places of rise and fall, both lost and preserved beauties, but also as settings for romantic and dramatic stories.
