Another book from the Adapted Czech Prose edition is titled 'O pejskovi a kočičce' (About the Dog and the Cat). It contains ten cheerful stories known to several generations of Czech children. The dog and the cat are friends, living together in a little house, and they want to do everything like humans: they wash the floor, celebrate holidays and birthdays, bake a cake, go on trips, and visit friends. The texts are simplified so that students of Czech as a foreign language at the A1 level can familiarize themselves with them. The narratives are complemented by well-known illustrations by Josef Čapek. The publication also includes a DVD with six popular films about the dog and the cat. The publication also contains language exercises related to the texts and films, a Czech-English-German-Russian glossary, and an answer key to the exercises. Audio recordings of the texts can be found on the website www.czechstepbystep.cz.
