Příhoda – Kirchhoff Bodo (2017)

Reither, until recently a publisher and owner of a bookstore in a big city, now lives in a quiet valley at the foothills of the Alps. In the local library, he is intrigued by a book without a title – only the author's name appears on the cover. In the evening, while still pondering the book, someone unexpectedly rings his apartment doorbell. That very night, a fateful incident begins, which takes Reither to Sicily within three days. His companion on the journey is Leonie Palmová, a former hat shop owner; she had to close her business because there were increasingly fewer faces for her hats. Reither, on the other hand, has shut down his publishing house because the ever-growing desire to see one's own name not only on the doorbell but also on the cover of a book means, in his view, the death of good books. However, perhaps even more strongly, the two are connected by the fact that they are no longer ready for great love. When, after three days in a car by the Mediterranean Sea, they are struck by a feeling not unlike happiness, a young girl, a refugee who does not speak, simply joins them...
