Beschreibung
The next collection in the Adapted Czech Prose series brings readers stories from one of the most well-known contemporary Czech writers. The selected texts are based on short stories and essays, united by a simple narrative style, self-irony, and a sense of humor. The author tells ten stories from her life, about family, childhood, love, and interpersonal relationships. Readers can also become acquainted with her work in films for which she wrote the screenplay, such as the autobiographically inclined film Thanks for Every New Morning. Each story is accompanied by illustrations, conversational, grammatical, and lexical exercises focused on developing all communication skills – mainly reading and listening, but also speaking and writing. The book is further supplemented by a Czech-English-German-Russian glossary and an answer key to the exercises. An audio CD with a complete recording of the book is also included. The texts can be used for independent reading or as material for work in Czech language classes for foreigners. The collection is intended for level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
