The popularity of public creative writing courses focused primarily on amateur literary creation has led to the academic significance of the field not being sufficiently reflected in the Czech environment in recent years. The practice of creative writing, by its very nature, has an interdisciplinary character and can draw from various methodological frameworks (such as cognitive science, dramatic education and drama therapy, narrative coaching, meditation training, etc.). Therefore, the most advantageous presentation tool appears to be the multi-genre essay format, with which the author has already worked in his previous publications (the present volume completes a loose trilogy). Each chapter is built around a specific set of exercises (constellation techniques in the creation of poetic texts, creative use of lists, Edward de Bono's six thinking hats, narrative focalization, etc.). This approach allows the publication to be integrated into literature teaching, but also offers stimuli for independent development of literary creativity and self-reflection.
