Beschreibung
The book aims to show the specific ways in which approaches critically connected to Masaryk's and Patočka's thinking pose the question of humanity, which post-war Patočka identified as the central question of Czech philosophy, and how this question is answered. Individual authors connect philosophical inquiry with a historical approach; in fifteen chapters, they gradually interpret the texts of T. G. Masaryk, E. Rádlo, J. L. Fischer, J. Patočka, J. L. Hromádka, L. Hejdánek, J. Němec, B. Löwenstein, R. Palouš, P. Rezek, J. M. Lochman, Z. Neubauer, and other thinkers. Thus, humanity gradually reveals itself in relation to society, to institutions, to time and history, to technology, to its own corporeality and animality, but also to its conscience, to non-objective realities, and ultimately to the whole of the world.
