Mezi normou a každodenní praxí -Správa komorních panství Pardubice, Poděbrady a Kolín v letech 1614-1702 – Vlasáková Zuzana (2023)

The publication focuses on the hierarchy of the administration of the chamber estates from 1614 to 1702, with a particular emphasis on the noble officials of the chamber estates of Pardubice, Poděbrady, and Kolín. It outlines the dynamics of the functioning of various levels of administration, from the central court chamber through the Czech chamber, the rentmaster's office, and the accounting office to the noble apparatus and their communication with both urban and rural self-governments and the inhabitants of the respective estates. Regarding the noble apparatus, it not only focuses on the transformation of the organizational structure of the offices, the duties and competencies of their representatives, but also attempts to shed light on the social composition, salary evaluation, and the qualifications necessary for performing the office. Furthermore, the process of acceptance into service, the question of motivation and sanctions, and the concept of "official career" as such are presented. Some neuralgic points reflected in the sources throughout the observed period (clientelism, arrears, and embezzlement, etc.) are not overlooked. The main goal is to capture, compare, and analyze not only the changes (or constants) in official practice but also to highlight the disproportions between official "theory" and everyday reality and to place them in the context of the "time and place" in which they are observed.
