The monograph focuses on one of the main elements in the field of knowledge management, namely knowledge transfer and the management of knowledge transfer. The subject of interest is a significant source of knowledge for tourism, which is the academic community. The publication thus responds to current trends, where the ability, or rather the necessity, to change and flexibly respond to changes in the environment stems from the ability to learn. Knowledge is therefore currently one of the most important resources of an organization. The aim of the monograph is to describe the transfer of knowledge from the academic environment to tourism businesses and to justify the necessity of creating an effective system for sharing and transferring knowledge not only within businesses but especially within the tourism destination. The effort is to critically assess how academic knowledge benefits tourism businesses and whether it is applicable in practice. The output of the monograph is a proposal for a model of knowledge transfer in the tourism destination and an indication of directions for further research in the area of knowledge transfer, particularly from the academic sphere to tourism businesses.
