Beschreibung
The publication presents the work of two Quebec authors of Haitian descent, Emile Ollivier and Dany Laferrière, representatives of "migrant" literature that has been gaining prominence since the 1980s not only in Canada. The analysis deals with temporality and spatiality in selected novels by Ollivier and Laferrière, in which their connection to exile is evident. Themes of leaving one’s country, adapting abroad, and the problem of returning home resonate in the works of all migrant writers. The study aims to capture the specific representation of the chronotope of exile in the works of both authors in light of older and newer theoretical approaches to the issue.
