Beschreibung
The book Zácestí brings a new, refreshing perspective to the Czech space on the theme of human wandering through landscapes and cities, on wandering in itself. It combines the theoretical foundation of the author's insights into the starting points of self-discovery and the need to rediscover places of sacred topography with a real step into the unknown. What he writes about also needs to be experienced, merging theory with lived practice into a compact whole. The author does not intend to create a travelogue or an encyclopedia, but rather to record the spirituality of a pilgrim who has set a goal but allows himself to be guided through the numinous, by a force of some kind of vis maior. He experiences this with his fellow pilgrims – with his wife and children – firsthand. The title serves as a family travel diary as well as a contextual theological and cultural discourse on the journey into both the near and distant unknown (into places and corners of the human soul). In this genre-specific text, alongside the description of travels through Bohemia and Europe and exceptional theological reflection, his personal testimony is important, a desire to allow for exposure – a meeting with the Other. The encounter with Burda's Book Zácestí could help change the perspective of non-reading churchgoers on Christianity, family, lived theology, and the culturally social perspective of experiencing the world.
