Beschreibung
During the Second World War, almost two thousand Czechs were sent against their will to Norway by the Nazis as part of the forced labour programme. In northern Europe they experienced Nazi brutality, hard work in harsh Arctic conditions and separation from their families, but also the beauty of the Scandinavian landscape and encounters with friendly, helpful local people. After the war, they called themselves “Noráci” and continued meeting into old age to remember this small but remarkable chapter in Czech and Norwegian history during the Second World War.
