Beschreibung
The renewal of the life of the entire people of God was the main demand of the Second Vatican Council, which is one of the major reform councils of the universal church. An integral part of this work of renewal and reform of the church was to intensify efforts to transform relationships among all of Christ's disciples. The council aimed for a renewed and ecumenical church. The presented book can be understood as a contribution to the study of the reception of the teachings of the Second Vatican Council on ecumenism from the end of the general council to the present day. The author examines both the continuity and shifts in the interpretation of the council's teachings, as well as new impulses contained in the documents of the magisterium of the Catholic Church. The resulting text was born from careful listening to the voice of the teaching authority, as expressed in the documents of the Roman Curia and in the teachings of the Roman bishops Paul VI, John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis.
