The reflection on power – undoubtedly one of the key concepts of political thought – has posed a challenge for the authors of the individual chapters of this collective monograph. Their goal was not to arrive at a final and indisputable definition of power, as such ambitions would only lead to an attempt to seize the concept and use it as a tool for evaluation or even for controlling reality. Therefore, the authors' contribution is not the instrumentalization of power, but an effort to understand this concept from philosophical, religious, or historical perspectives. The reflection on power thus becomes an example of the power of reflection.
