The little book you hold in your hand presents the briefest possible interpretation of Comenius's work, General Consultation on the Reform of Human Affairs. Something is evidently wrong with humanity and humankind. On one hand, we have excellent potential; we know a lot, we can do a lot, we can achieve a lot, but precisely this capacity is our greatest threat. Everything good that we possess can be misused. We are the only beings with the potential for self-destruction. The humanity of people is not quite right, but it is not entirely lost; this is the starting anthropological assumption of the Consultation. What does Comenius discuss with humanity? What are human affairs? What is wrong with them? And the most important question – can they be repaired, reformed, improved? Is it not a utopia? This mini-book is not meant to be a technically demanding and incomprehensible study, but an attempt at a reader-friendly interpretation of Comenius's magnum opus. Based on the seven 'human affairs,' the readers are offered seven almost poetic meditations on nothing less than the meaning of all human endeavors.
