Phenomenology of Life I. On Phenomenology is the first work of a collection of shorter texts, originally published in various journals, anthologies, and conference materials. Their significance lies primarily in the fact that they introduce the reader to the basic principles of so-called material phenomenology, which Michel Henry formulated in his most famous and most discussed works: L'essence de la manifestation (1963), Philosophie et phénoménologie du corps. Essai sur l'ontologie biranienne (1965), Incarnation. Une philosophie de la chair (2000). The presented book patiently reinitiates us into the key issue of the dual mode of phenomenalization, so that we can set against the manifestation in transcendence the revelation of life that escapes the world, which itself realizes this work, once again placing us before the phenomenological possibility of leaving the horizon of light and entering the realm of radical interiority, which no one has ever seen and never will see.
