Family life seems to be a private matter. Hardly anything is as often the subject of public debate (from high politics to 'gossip') as family life. The family, as a space for intimate sharing with loved ones and as an environment for reproduction (not just biological), is significant for a person's socialization for life 'at home' and 'outside.' This book is based on interviews with parents from Czech and French families with three children, where at least one parent has attained higher than secondary education. All these families are very similar from a distance, while up close... The publication provides an opportunity to get acquainted with a model of family socialization based on three ideal types: family business, a family of two generations of peers, and a couple with children.
