Obraz druhé světové války a holocaustu v německy psané literatuře – Heinrichová Naděžda (2013)

The publication offers new stimuli and inspiration for both professionals and the general public interested in this issue. Within its literary-scientific profile, the authors focus on the literary reflection of one of the darkest periods in world history through selected works of German literature. The selection of texts may appeal to those interested in how to capture this dreadful, absurd reality in verse, as well as to those interested in the gradual process of detabulizing the Holocaust, World War II, and its consequences over the past decades against the backdrop of different political systems up to the reunification of Germany. The final section answers the question of why this issue remains relevant in contemporary German literature, highlighting, despite a fifty-year distance, the ongoing efforts in Germany to come to terms with the Nazi past from the perspective of second and third-generation authors - the generation of sons and grandsons, with the active complicity of their ancestors in the horrific regime and with "inappropriate" themes in both German literatures - such as the image of the ethnic German as a victim.
