After an unexpected attack in Gotham, Swamp Thing saved himself only by projecting his consciousness across the galaxy. He awoke on a distant blue planet full of life, but devoid of intelligent beings. In complete isolation, Swamp Thing nearly went mad, but eventually he launched himself back into the universe in hopes of finding his way home. As he now leaps through the vast emptiness (including a stop on Rann, Adam Strange's adoptive world), Swamp Thing discovers that life can be stranger and more fantastic than he ever imagined. Nothing, however, can be more wonderful than his ultimate goal – returning home and reuniting with his beloved Abby. In the final installment under the direction of Alan Moore, Swamp Thing's transformation is completed: from an inhuman monster, he becomes one of the most powerful elementals in Earth's history.
