When it first appeared, they were told it was something unnatural - a bad omen. They felt observed, exposed, and vulnerable. Thus, it was primal fear that shaped their civilization. Gradually, they came up with the name Eye of Erykon, and since the 'Eye' continually resisted any scientific attempt to reveal its true nature, many are now convinced that it is an intelligence studying their world. An intelligence that may be hostile, waiting for the right moment.
