The book Czech Republic – Why Be Proud to Be Czech presents the cultural wealth of our homeland, its natural treasures, historical traditions, and famous natives. By highlighting the beauties of the Czech lands and the industrious work of their inhabitants, we aim to illustrate the joy that such heritage brings. But it is not only the glorious past that evokes a sense of pride in a person. It is also important how much we realize the magnificent legacy of our ancestors, how actively and responsibly we will care for and further develop it. Only then can we truly be proud of the country we live in. In selecting the places mentioned in this book, we emphasized their interest, attractiveness, and uniqueness. Since this is not an encyclopedia, it is possible that you will look for some locations here and not find them. As a substitute, you may be pleased to discover other places you perhaps did not know about. It was also not always easy to choose from the multitude of personalities available. Their inclusion in specific areas stems from various relationships to the respective places.
