Mexico is a private matter that concerns almost everyone. Some people are preparing to go there, others have already been there, and some know nothing about it, merely having a vague feeling. Many have no idea at all, yet Mexico still hovers over them as a unique chance in life. There are even a handful of people who set out for Mexico on their own, without knowing where they are heading or what it will mean to them. Are they avoiding the hostility of fate, or perhaps fleeing from themselves? And no one knows whether they reached their destination and settled in Mexico. Jenůfka has run away from a children’s home and boarded an unknown ship in the port of Bremenhaven, convinced that it will take her there. She has been sailing for days, weeks and months, and her patience is running out: When will Mexico finally appear? There is no answer. The ship sails on, leaving behind it a long, white, foaming and very thick line. The contents are in Czech.
