The hero of the novel miraculously survives an injury, but with the consequence of memory loss: he does not know his name, where he comes from, and cannot remember a fraction of his previous life. He is cared for by a woman, and together they touch the deepest layers of memories, connect the scattered pieces of the subconscious, and uncover a shared history. The title Amadoka refers to the largest lake in Europe, which was located in what is now Ukraine. It is mentioned by Herodotus, and for several centuries, ancient and medieval cartographers marked it on maps. Until the moment the lake disappeared without a trace. And these are the further layers of this book. But how do lakes, worlds, cultures disappear, and what remains after them?
