Beschreibung
Twelve short stories and one novella are united by the desire to tell, whether it is whimsical tales from travels to Spain and Israel, the adventures of an official, a homeless person, or stickers in bathrooms, the crazy escapades of a champion in solving the Rubik's Cube or filming adult films. The author's heroes, including his alter ego, head into the unknown, to places that lie on the fringes of society, sometimes beyond the borders of sleep, and at other times simply beyond the borders. And one more thing is common to these stories – humor, although it sounds paradoxical at first glance, it is the amused detachment of a sensitive observer. Petr Stejskal's prose does not deny his affiliation with the North Bohemian 'harsh school,' as critic Jan Nejedlý once defined it half-seriously, half-ironically. However, what is much more significant is that the stories – written during the age of the cosmomyth – have the power to draw the reader into the flow of narration and leave them at the end perhaps amused, perhaps contemplative, perhaps even richer with a few fresh metaphors.
