Kriminální příběhy ze staré Šumavy 8 – Šindelář Vladimír (2025)

The eighth book in the series about old crimes in Šumava and its surroundings takes us this time to the period of the First Republic. Life in Šumava was not easy even then. Among the honest people here, there were always those who tried to live at the expense of others, whether by fair means or foul. Some of these stories are told in this book.
We will read about an unknown man murdered near Nýrsko, or how two young robbers fared after visiting the famous Klenová Castle at night. We will recount what happened to a newborn baby in Albrechtice near Sušice and how tragically the friendship of two former business partners ended in the woods of Prenet. We will read about the sad ending of a Šumava trip taken by two young lovers from Strakonice, and why a rebellion broke out among the women in Hlavňovice in 1929. We will learn about the terrible events that occurred on Christmas Day in 1927 in Těchonice in the Plánice region and when the first death sentence was handed down in the new seat of the Klatovy court.
All these cases truly happened between 1923-1931. Although a whole century has passed since then, many of these stories still resonate with the tragedy of human fates.
