A gripping autobiographical story about a dramatic escape from a concentration camp. He sat on the bare ground and watched a line of empty cars rolling around the camp. They were returning from the trains that took his people to the hell known as Treblinka. The cars warmed in the late afternoon sun and slowly crept across the endless fields. Just recently, these horse-drawn carts had transported harvests or livestock. Now they were used to transport his people to the death trains. Jews were pushed by the hundreds from the carts into cattle cars. Many of them died long before they reached their destination.
