Beschreibung

The gripping life story of a ranger from Zlatá Studna ***** You have before you the memoirs of Robert Steun, who was born at the beginning of the last century. As a young man, he took a position as an adjutant in the Šumava region, where he spent the most beautiful period of his life. This was followed by a life full of twists, fear for his life and that of his loved ones during the horrors of World War II. In the 1930s, he became a policeman, worked for the secret intelligence service, and was imprisoned by the Nazis twice. He describes in a gripping manner the events and occurrences during the worst period that the Czech nation experienced - World War II, as well as the post-war years. Despite all the hardships that fate dealt him, he remained in his heart in the beautiful Šumava. After the war, he wanted to live a peaceful life, so he moved with his family to the Šumava forests and worked as a forest manager in the Zlatá Studna district. He loved the nature of Šumava with all his heart, but even there, the aftertaste of the post-war period was felt, especially the national question, the coexistence of Germans and Czechs who shared the same territory. ---------------------- My parents were Germans, my homeland is Bohemia. Am I then a child of my parents, or a son of my homeland? The answer is very difficult, but life is even harder...
