Beschreibung
The Charles Bridge has united both banks of the Vltava River since 1357, becoming an inseparable part of the impressive Prague panorama. The cornerstone was laid by Emperor Charles IV, and although the bridge has faced many adversities, it still exists today. Over time, several sculptures have been installed there. Except for the bronze statue of St. John of Nepomuk, the other 29 works of important saints are made of stone. Thanks to them, the oldest surviving Prague bridge has become a unique and unparalleled construction worldwide, and no visitor to Prague should miss it.
