Beschreibung
A landscape without water seems dead; at best, it resembles a bird without wings, a house without a roof, a railway without sleepers. Yet, it takes so little—a single puddle, a spring, a stream, or a brook—not to mention majestic waterfalls, breathtaking lakes, peaceful ponds, and proud rivers. All these water backdrops complete the Czech image with immense narrative value, characterizing their land more impressively than any words and often becoming irreplaceable symbols. Many picturesque water nooks complement places of considerable historical significance, many hide secrets, perhaps a dark past, magical power, or an extraordinary story, as if competing for our attention. In this contest, however, there are no winners or losers; all these places, whether they are still, flowing, lazy, or fierce waters, become our grateful destination. Anyone who seeks something more than just moving from point A to point B during their travels through the landscape is always captivated anew, and their journey becomes an adventure with added value, which can nobly fill our time.
