Sometimes I have to admire people. A few years ago in winter, I had a student with a dog who approached me in quite an unusual way. The owner came rushing down the hill at full speed, sitting on the ground with her legs stretched out in front of her, holding a leash attached to a very happy Bernese Mountain Dog. With a grin from ear to ear, flapping ears, and bursting with zest for life, the dog galloped very quickly towards me. The owner was not as enthusiastic and was greatly relieved when the dog stopped. She absolutely had no chance of staying on her feet on the icy path, which is why she arrived in this grand manner. I love helping such wonderful people and their dogs to manage any situation they encounter. That is why I love this method that I have decided to use for walking dogs on a loose leash. It is an excellent way to help people calmly handle the situation.
