Beschreibung
The story of programmatic betrayal – this could describe the fate of Augustin Přeučil, a Czechoslovak pilot who went into exile in 1939 on the orders of the Gestapo. He first headed to the emerging Czechoslovak military unit in Poland, then left for France on the brink of war, and later to Great Britain, from where he deserted as a member of the RAF. He flew back to Nazi-occupied Europe with a British fighter plane and valuable information. In the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, he worked until the end of the war as a paid informant in the service of the Gestapo. There is no more specific case of betrayal in the history of our resistance. Therefore, the post-war sentence for Přeučil's crimes during the trial before the extraordinary people's court could only be – death. The theme is expanded by the stories of other informants, originally soldiers of our foreign army – Antonín Vašíř, Viliam Gerik, and Karel Čurda.
