The prepared collection of maps contains reproductions of historical maps of Czechoslovakia and the Czech lands during significant periods of our history. The author of the collection is Prof. Eva Semotanová, who included not only maps from the archive of the Historical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences but also works from her private map collection. For completeness, the historical works are supplemented with contemporary maps from Kartografie Praha, offering a unique opportunity for direct comparison of the representation of Europe or the Czech Republic over time. In addition to maps, the collection includes plans and views of Prague and Brno. Each map is accompanied on the back by a description of the era from which it originates, and in many cases, it also provides insights from contemporary cartographers on the maps of that time.
