His very first case, the murder of an oil refinery worker, proves to be quite a challenge, and instead of spending time with his wife Sylvia and their young daughter, he stays at work even longer than before. Perhaps it's also because he has started a very risky game with Valika, the cafeteria waitress. On the homicide department, the young rookie is taken under the wing of older colleagues Hanzel and Burge, who decide to mold him into the detective they envision.
