After graduation, I received a symbolic gift from my parents – a doctor's bag. During my practice, I always found everything a doctor should have on hand inside it. However, it gradually became a kind of leather scrapbook, where I stored written notes and tape recordings of everything I deemed worthy of remembering. Some memories I used while writing this book. They may be thematically inconsistent, but they reflect the diversity of essays, reflections, and humorous sketches in the spirit of J. E. Purkyně's experiences: "When I look back on my past life, perhaps long and varied enough, it is left to our whim or caprice or the camaraderie of memories in what order they present themselves to us." I kindly ask the reader to accept Purkyně's way of storytelling and capturing memories while reading my recollections and reflections.
