Beschreibung
The novel by writer Jan Souček, "The (Un)believable Life of Ota K.", tells the life story full of (un)believable events that accompany the main character Ota K. from childhood through adolescence to the threshold of adulthood. The protagonist must defend himself against a hidden enemy that has followed him throughout his life and occasionally delivers harsh blows. These blows come at Ota K. from all sides and lead him into complicated life situations. They even take him to a brief departure from the republic and subsequent stays in the well-known police building on Bartolomějská Street, where he spends several nights behind bars. ********** The story takes place in difficult times, whether during the Protectorate or in the 1950s, a time full of fears, uncertainties, and unexpected social and political events that tested people's characters every day. Nevertheless, the main character manages to maintain optimism, perspective, character, and a love for life. But he must always be cautious because that treacherous "unknown" is constantly watching him...
