The gripping story based on true events captures the struggle of a forester from the Šumava forests against an organized group illegally logging in his territory. He was attacked in the woods by men committing serious crimes, brutally beaten, and threatened with having his head cut off by a chainsaw and with the murder of his entire family. He did not give up and went to file a criminal complaint with the police. He learned that he was armed and, moreover, that he was presenting one testimony against the testimonies of three men who would claim that he attacked them. The book takes us into the web of connections between organized crime, police officers, lawyers, and prosecutors.
