"Quick Start" is suitable for lower grades of multi-year gymnasiums. It develops communicative competencies at level A1 of the CEFR and smoothly continues with the textbook Pojechali 3. The new textbook consistently applies a personal approach to students, taking into account their wishes, needs, and age, with motivation playing an irreplaceable role. It is based on the fact that Russian and Czech are related Slavic languages, sharing many common elements; grammatical material in Russian is thoroughly covered only after it has been mastered in the native language, using terminology that students are familiar with from their mother tongue. The textbook utilizes the experiences and learning skills students have gained while acquiring their first foreign language, such as learning new vocabulary, the ability to guess the meaning of words, working with a dictionary, and the skill of working with unfamiliar texts, while also considering the practical needs of today – the printed Cyrillic alphabet is used more frequently even in written form (necessary for questionnaires, filling out various forms, etc.), so mastering the Cyrillic alphabet and practicing reading occurs significantly faster. Teaching and practicing the written Cyrillic alphabet takes place in the second line. The atmosphere of the textbook aims for lightness and playfulness.
