The publication briefly and clearly explains (and demonstrates with many examples) the formation of organic chemistry nomenclature according to the revised IUPAC rules. The formulas and names of individual groups of organic compounds are logically derived and organized into tables, where common and differing characteristics of the compounds are highlighted in color. Each chapter ends with a final test that includes the correct solutions. The selection of compound names corresponds to the organic chemistry curriculum for high schools. The book can serve not only for practicing nomenclature in chemistry classes but also for preparing for the graduation exam. Due to its clear tabular organization and inclusion of more challenging and supplementary material, it can also be recommended for reviewing and supplementing high school chemistry in the first year of university. By including (according to the revised rules) names of organic compounds from the Sigma-Aldrich chemical catalog and names of compounds from the international university textbook Organic Chemistry, the book can be a good aid for chemists in laboratories and factories.
