The term interstitial lung processes (IPP) encompasses a very large group of diseases that share a common diffuse involvement of lung tissue, and thus a similar clinical, radiological, and functional picture. These are often diseases with very severe courses and consequences, including significant shortening of life. Some optimism has been brought by the development of pharmacotherapy in the last two decades, during which the first truly effective drugs have appeared on the market. The previous two editions significantly raised awareness of this group of diseases in the Czech pneumological community, including awareness of the possibilities of modern pharmacotherapy.
