Beschreibung
One in six couples in our country faces the diagnosis of infertility. The cause is almost equally often on the man's side as on the woman's side. Fortunately, modern treatment methods are very successful – most infertile couples conceive after treatment. The examination for infertility and potential treatment is usually initiated by a general gynecologist. Based on the results of the examination and treatment, the infertile couple may subsequently be referred to a specialized reproductive medicine facility, where assisted reproductive methods, which are the main focus of this book, are available. The book is intended for both general gynecologists and doctors working in reproductive medicine facilities. Its 4th edition captures changes both in the field that have occurred in recent years (depot gonadotropins, elective single embryo transfer, anti-Müllerian hormone and its comparison with antral follicle count, the new WHO manual on sperm examination and processing), as well as important changes in laws and in the reimbursement of IVF cycles. Dr. Karel Řežábek, CSc., is a leading Czech expert in the field of assisted reproduction and is one of the pioneers of new IVF methods in our republic.
