The book thus meets the current needs of internists in emergency outpatient clinics, where many acute conditions need to be addressed rather than just referred. The authors aimed to create a handbook that they themselves would have liked to have available when they started their careers. Each chapter has a co-author or reviewer who is an expert specializing in the relevant issue. Currently, it is the only up-to-date publication of its kind on the domestic book market. The publication contains specific instructions on how to proceed in various acute conditions.
