The Avalanche of Being is already the fourth poetry collection by Ivana Štětkářová – it follows her previous successful works Fragment of Life and Non-Life (2015), Dragon's Lines (2016), and Lighter Without Clothes (2018). An integral part of all these poetry collections are the author's paintings, which we perceive together as an intense intertwining of artistic expression of poetry with the poetic conception of the image. The paintings in this collection are lost and rediscovered works from her adolescence. The author – a leading Czech doctor in the field of neurology – sensitively explores the relationships between people and the issues of humanity and nature in her poems. There is a noticeable deep knowledge of the medical environment and the mysterious, often somber, corners of the human soul.
