A colorful illustrated guide to the majestic area of Prague Castle. The text is divided into chapters according to the individual parts of the heritage complex. The information appendix includes, among other things, a page dedicated to the coronation jewels, overviews of rulers, and significant historical dates; it also includes a plan of the Castle and a map of central Prague at a scale of 1:25,500. Prague Castle is undoubtedly our foremost monument. This guide presents it as an ancient symbol of Czech statehood, which has been uniquely and sensitively shaped by historical epochs and individual architectural styles over more than a thousand years of development. This has created a treasury of Central European art, dominated by St. Vitus Cathedral with the Chapel of St. Wenceslas.
