Something is always blooming and something is always fading; you always have to cut off the faded stems grumbling (to the flower, not to yourself): 'It's also over for you.' Look, these flowers, it's really like women: SO BEAUTIFUL AND FRESH, YOU'D KEEP YOUR EYES ON THEM AND YOU'D NEVER SEE ALL THAT BEAUTY, something always escapes you, God, when every beauty is so insatiable..."

If people met under the stars in the evening, they wouldn't talk about politics or the damned conditions - under the stars, it's good to talk about love, about the future, and about other quiet and serious things. Under the stars, one can go crazy or fall in love, but cannot get angry. Mysterious astral influences truly exist - the stars have a powerful effect on a person who looks at them, but they do not affect those who are watching neon signs or flipping through newspapers.
