The Mansfield estate has all the necessary attributes of a successful novel – a convoluted, colorful story full of vividly portrayed characters, culminating in a happy ending. The main heroine, Fanny Price, finds herself at a young age as a poor relative at Mansfield in the family of her better-off aunt and uncle.
