Psychopedie, teoretické základy a metodika – Valenta Milan (2022)

This Czech-language university textbook presents a comprehensive treatment of psychopedics, one of the core disciplines of special education, and is also suitable for special-education professionals in practice. Written by Milan Valenta, Oldřich Müller and other specialists, it is divided into general and methodological sections. The general section covers the definition and terminology of psychopedics, the causes of intellectual disability, the personality of people with intellectual disabilities or other mental disorders, psychopedagogical diagnosis, the history of care for people with mental disabilities, prevention and integration, the educational system, and therapeutic approaches, including dance and movement therapy. It also addresses alternative and augmentative communication, early intervention, psychopedagogical adult education and geragogy, and the sexuality of people with intellectual disabilities. The methodological section focuses on educational theory and the didactics of people with intellectual disabilities, particularly in practical and special primary schools, and includes selected subject methodologies for Czech language, mathematics, educational subjects, sensory education and sex education.
