German Literature is a collection of essays about German writers, but also about foreign literary creators who spent some time in Germany. Alongside German literati, František Všetička emphasizes Czech writers who sought refuge in the Federal Republic of Germany during the time of communist totality (L. Koval, M. Nápravník, K. Trinkewitz, K. Kryl, etc.). German territory also became an attractive magnet for creators from foreign countries (S. Crane, F. M. Dostoevsky, L. N. Tolstoy, etc.). The publication, which serves as a unique literary guide to places associated with the lives and works of the discussed authors, is accompanied by more than a hundred of Všetička's photographs.
