Beschreibung
Brother Jack Mardesic is a member of a small Franciscan community living in Brussels. He often embarks on short-term missions in the style of Saint Francis, that is, with prayer but without money, without food supplies, and without arranged accommodation. In this uncertainty, they experience not only a series of interesting encounters but also the surprising care of God's providence. The stories of Brother Jack and his companions take place in various cities across Europe and urgently remind us that the mission field is all around us and that people's willingness to listen to testimonies about God is much greater than Christians' willingness to testify about the joy of God's closeness. ***** Brother Jack Mardesic (born 1980) has partly Croatian roots but was born and raised in Australia. After his conversion at the age of twenty-one, he also discovered a calling to religious life. He spent several years in formation in Rome and is now a member of the Franciscan community based in Brussels. From there, he regularly sets out with someone from the brothers, parishioners, or a group of young people on Franciscan missions, which this book discusses.
